A chewy, golden, lunchbox-friendly oat bar that sustains and satisfies on-the-go. 

The purpose of this plant-based protein snack is to sustain and satisfy on-the-go. The bar is high in protein, fibre and vitamins, whilst also catering for people who are vegan, vegetarian, and/or dairy intolerant. 

This bar is being developed to be a healthy alternative to an on-the-go snack. This is because the bar has less sugar and salt than most bars that are on the market today. The product is value-added because I have added dates, which are a great source of vitamins such as Vitamin A, thiamine complex of vitamin B, folate, vitamin C and vitamin E, vitamin K, along with minerals like calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sodium and zinc. 

This oat bar is a classic snack for people on the go who are craving a little pick-me-up to get through the day. 

The physical properties of this product include the following: sticky to touch, chewy in the middle with a crunchy top layer of oat, a sweet smell, with a golden colouring and a layer of deep red dates in the centre. The sensory properties are a chewy texture, with a sweet buttery taste. It is an excellent source of protein, with every pitted date providing a total of 24 grams each. 

Each bar weighs 100 grams which is the average bar size and quantity of bars available today for on-the-go snacks. The shape of the bar is thick and rectangular.
